Low Vision Support Services.
Low Vision Services Helping You to Move Forward
The enforced change that comes with a vision loss diagnosis can be emotionally challenging and even completely overwhelming. I provide emotional and social support to those with visual or auditory impairment through my work with the charitable organisation Blindsided NZ and their low vision program. My number one goal is to help people live the best and most fulfilling version of their lives as possible.
This includes discussing the challenges you face so that we can come up with a plan together for how you will handle things such as employment, family life, and your home life in the future. If you are finding it difficult to move forward or picture what the future will look like, I can help you to plan for the unexpected so you feel confident and in control of your life.
As part of our low vision services, I can help to identify which of your social and emotional needs are not currently being met and provide referrals to the appropriate organisations. This may include referrals to mental health services or support to access skills and accessibility training.
Collaborative Low Vision Services
If you are an organisation or company that also provides low vision services, I’d love to collaborate with you. Wherever I discover a gap in the current services for those with low vision, I aim to fill it. That often requires co-creation with other service providers. Let’s work together to make sure that no one falls through the cracks.
